Saturday morning, 19 February 2011, Dawn and I left the Red Roof Inn in Merrillville, Indiana, and set off for Wilmette, Illinois. We had a time estimate from the GPS I bought before the trip, but we decided to allot plenty of extra time in case of bad Chicago traffic or difficulty in finding parking once we reached our destination. Better early than late, after all. We got to the Wilmette Theatre in plenty of time (they were still setting up inside) so I went next door to grab something to eat. Following bmajors' recommendation, I got a bacon cheeseburger topped with a stack of gyro meat – delicious.
The pictures below with the orange border were taken by Dawn; the ones with a blue border by me. Don't forget that my videos are in the original post.
This is one of the cast members, who accompanied me to the burger place next door. I like his t-shirt; it's a parody of the first Fantastic Four cover with Sesame Street characters. Oh, and that bacon gyro cheeseburger (I forget what it was called) was the last thing I bought that day. bmajors and her husband undeadjohnny comped our tickets, wouldn't let the concession stand take my money, and then paid for my dinner after the show (happy birthday to me!) Well, see if I let them pay for anything next time they're out here. That'll show 'em.
I took the picture above in the microscopic mens' room of the theatre. I should have taken a picture of the entire mens' room; I don't think Dawn believed me or supermachodude about the size. Anyway, once the doors opened and we were seated in the theater, bmajors came out to give me a completely unnecessary warning about shouting rude callbacks in the presence of children (this was a 1PM matinee, and had several families with children in attendance). I had already seen the kids and hadn't planned to sing the alternate lyrics to "Suddenly Semen" anyway. Since I had a camera, bmajors asked me to come backstage and take a few pictures of the cast in costume before the show started, and so I did…
Below: the movie begins!
Nice little sight gag, Frank Oz' credit was across bmajors' butt.
To be continued… I still have a lot of photos to go through.
