Longer Answer: That still depends on all sorts of things, with location and company being the two biggest factors. I've had good times camping (Old Orchard Beach in Maine, whitewater rafting in West Virginia) and in hotels (conventions, though not all of them qualified as "luxury" hotels). All other things being equal, I'd probably take the hotel; but if it was a choice between a business trip to a hotel or camping with my friends, I'd have more fun wherever the friends were. Unless it's Vegas. Vegas is a trump card.
These are the answers from the Return of the Super-Challenge Song Lyric Meme, along with videos and/or other details where applicable. (All comments in the original post have been unscreened.) Feel free to check out the rest of the songs that you didn't know – you might find something that you like (or that you'd forgotten). And, as a side note, I think this one was way too easy. Sixteen out of twenty correctly identified in no time at all, on a day when many people couldn't even get onto LJ (or Facebook, Twitter, GMail, or whatever).

Holding Out for a Hero by Bonnie Tyler.

The theme song to Red Dwarf
, composed by Howard Goodall and sung (usually) by Jenna Russell. This one was pretty easy for my friends list, but I didn't want to cheat by using any of the extra lyrics written by Ian Hu for the
Extended Mix of the theme song.

'Cause I'm a Blonde by Julie Brown, from the movie Earth Girls are Easy.

Shpadoinkle by Trey Parker, from Cannibal! The Musical.

Used to Love Her by Guns 'n Roses. (The YouTube link is to an Evangelion AMV, since the videos of GnR playing the song live sucked.)
yendi
Trigger Happy by "Weird Al" Yankovic. (Another AMV, Trigun this time, since Al never made an official video for this song.)

I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers.

I Can't Drive 55 by Sammy Hagar.

The Baka Song, properly called "Yasashii, Ii Ko ni Narenai" (I Can't Become A Gentle, Good Girl), was sung by Ranma ½
's Akane Tendo (voice actress Hidaka Noriko).
richteaboy
Does Your Mother Know by ABBA. (For Mamma Mia! they replaced "chick" with "kid" and altered several other lines to make the song about a boy rather than a girl.)
Hit Me Baby One More Time by Britney Spears. Dweezil & Ahmet Zappa do a pretty awesome
cover of this song (Utena AMV), which is the only version I have. The reason I provided such a short snippet of lyrics was that I was afraid this one would be too easy – You'll notice that I usually try to provide longer samples of the more obscure (or non-English) entries.

Master of the House from Les Misérables
, performed by the Thénardiers and company.

Deteriorata, National Lampoon's parody of
Desiderata.

Now You're a Man by DVDA
, the theme song to Orgazmo.

Tear Me Down by Meatloaf. The lyrics have been modified from Steven Trask's
original version in Hedwig and the Angry Inch (which I also have); however, you only needed the title for full credit, so this wasn't a trick question.

Walking Around In Women's Underwear (another AMV) by Bob Rivers (not Weird Al!), a parody of
Walking in a Winter Wonderland.

Too Much Vodka (yeah, guess why I picked this one; here's the album version) by Wendy Newcomer.
How many of these songs can you name, along with the artist and/or source? You need to provide at a minimum the song's title in order to get full credit. Partial credit may be awarded to people who cannot identify the title, but provided enough other information to be worthy of mention. If someone else got partial credit, it's not too late to provide the title and get full credit. (Using Google or other search engines is, of course, forbidden.) I'll list the first people to be awarded credit; but comments are screened so that you can still try to guess even after someone else got it right. I'll post the answers (with video links where applicable) later. As a reminder, here was the last collection.

aimeegomeowBy "last meal", I assume they mean the traditional last meal before one is executed.
Answer #1: A fifteen-thousand course meal, each course being served an hour after the previous course.
Answer #2: An apple pie, made from apples grown in hydroponic farms on the lunar colony. I'm willing to wait however long it takes for them to be available.
Answer #3: A meat pie made from the heart and liver of whomever was assigned to execute me. Additional meat pies as necessary should other people be given the assignment.
yendi.Tempest. Problem is, I have never seen a decent port of this game for a home computer/console, because the game needs to be played with a paddle controller. It's not the same with keyboard or joystick control. My second-favorite arcade game was Q*Bert. |

They also gave an honorable mention to two vampire TV series I've seen, at least in part; Britain's Ultraviolet and Japan's Hellsing.
A historical newspaper specialist at the digital archival company Proquest believes he has found an example of a sideways winking smiley face embedded in The New York Times transcript of an 1862 speech given by President Lincoln. Other historians are not so sure, saying the semicolon alongside a closed parenthesis is either a mistake or a misinterpretation of something that is perfectly grammatical for that era.
