Allah Sulu-South Park

Here's the game all the cool kids are playing:
  1. Go into your LJ's archives.
  2. Find your 23rd post (or closest to).</li>
  3. Find the fifth sentence (or closest to).
  4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
From Labor Day, 2002: "No workee for me, and no plans either."

Oddly enough, my other journal's 23rd post (the day after Mardi Gras, 2003) also involved drinking the night before: "Today, much of the crew are severely hung over."

EDIT: In addition to the quote, I wish more people doing this meme would provide a link to the original article. Some of those quotes are begging for context.

EDIT #2: For those who are wondering, ウォッカの神 is Japanese for "Vodka God".

Allah Sulu-South Park

Three new vodka-related icons...
The first is a drunken Vash the Stampede, from the anime Trigun -- the Japanese text, from right to left and top to bottom, is "Arasuru" (Allah Sulu), "Huh?", and "God of Vodka". The second is an image I found on a work-safety webpage using a Google Image Search -- apparently
die7fox was amused that the Japanese had a word for "vodka" -- "It probably literally translates to 'happy potato death pleasure extract,' or something," quoth the Benton. I thought that was funny enough that it also deserved to be on an icon -- and I actually found Japanese "Banzai" vodka to use for the background...
