Our house is overflowing with show tunes. I already had far more than the normal straight man is allowed even before
It's a review of various Stephen Sondheim songs from productions including (but not limited to) A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Into the Woods, and Sweeney Todd. Carol Burnett gets top billing, but there are five performers (three men, two women) in all. I'd heard this playing in the background many times before, but never paid it whole lot of attention (because I was generally busy doing something else). Today, I was watching one number, and I said to Q, "That guy looks a lot like John Barrowman." "Who?" "Captain Jack!" After a few more minutes, while the dude continued to look more and more like Barrowman, I finally got up and checked the DVD case. Sure enough, there he was on the cover (hiding behind the four others, including Bronson Pinchot): John Barrowman. Captain Jack Freaking Harkness.
So yeah, that was odd. The man can sing, though; so if any of you guys are interested in this sort of thing, then you definitely should check this DVD out.
