LiveJournal в лицах (LiveJournal People)

I just saw this Russian commercial for LiveJournal, which is basically a montage of different userheads to illustrate their slogan: “LiveJournal объединяет множество людей, уникальных и особенных, с совершенно разными увлечениями, и каждый здесь находит что-то интересное для себя. Присоединяйтесь!” (“LiveJournal combines multitudes of unique and special people, with very different hobbies; and here everyone finds something interesting for themselves. Join!”) Of course, what I find interesting is that one of the heads they featured was one that I designed and they picked up (allah sulu). It’s based on a character called Captain Feathersword (@capfs_wiggle), which you can see me cosplaying in my avatar.

Spoiler-free FYI

There's only one mid-credits stinger at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Once you see that, you don't need to sit through another half hour of credits just to see "The Avengers will return" at the end.

A-TEAM Grenade Vodka

Q saw this the other day and picked it up for me. It’s small (a fifth, or 200ml) and cheap (under $10), but it’s in a cool container. Unfortunately, the coolest bottles always contain the harshest vodka (see also Crystal Skull Vodka); but fortunately, you can always re-fill and re-use the bottle with decent vodka.

I Was Watching For a Kid Who’d Lost His Pets

The frame above is from the very beginning of the new Netflix Daredevil series (not to be confused with the Affleck movie) where a young Matt Murdock is blinded after being hit by a truck and exposed to toxic chemicals that were being transported on it. Note the open manhole cover in the background, with the toxic chemicals spilling down into it. In the original (non-Marvel, BTW) Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles comic books, the Turtles received their powers during the same incident as Daredevil, from the same chemicals.
